INSPIRATION - PHILOSOPHY OF THE ARTIST

NATURE'S RHYTHM

Living with the images of Cyprus' nature and the images from archaeological sites and museums, consciously and subconsciously, I process and work with clay, creating my own forms, my own sculp- tures - symbols in formations inspired by the rhythms and patterns of nature and history.

Using clay as my medium, I create sculptures, forms and shapes, abstract and minimalistic, symbols of freedom, ascent and endless journey.

Handcrafted ceramic forms in white and blue. Forms that succeed each other, create relationships, cultivate tensions, play with their light and shadows, and create new formations.

Sculptures made of clay, ceramic forms, invoking the movement of waves in the sea, flocks of birds in the sky, the meander of fish in the sea. Sculptures inspired by the shape of fishtails and the flight of birds, symbols of ascent and freedom.

The material of the sculptures, clay, the most "Cypriot" material, ancient, traditional, and contempo- rary in the fine art of ceramics. Other materials coexist, such as glass, symbolizing water, and metal, symbolizing the earth.

In a series of works with prints, there are also the large "images," photos printed on plexi-glass, which transport us to "landscapes" with their own mental power.

My work consists of sculptures, symbols of eternal movement, humanity's need for freedom, harmony and balance.
